The Mythic Tarot was first published in 1986 and has been an international success with tarot readers ever since.
The card illustrations depict the gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines of the Greek myths – familiar archetypal characters whose experiences perfectly mirror the shifts and patterns of our lives today.
For this new edition, the entire deck has been re-illustrated by Giovanni Caselli, an artist with a passion for the classical world, its literature, symbols and myths.
The New Mythic Tarot book explains everything you need to know to become an accomplished tarot reader. The new cards are stunning, and breathe fresh life into this classic deck. With images rich in psychological insight, the mythical legends they depict provide wisdom and guidance for seekers of personal growth.
* Superb new illustrations for an established Tarot
* In-depth book of interpretation
* A new classic for our time
This deck has a youthful feel, full of enthusiasm for life. This is partly caused by the people in the cards, who all appear to have something ‘on the go’, always pondering something, or doing something. As stated above, Greek mythology plays a big part in this deck with the Golden Fleece, Zeus, Pan, Poseidon et al all making appearances. You do not necessarily need a great understanding of Greek mythology – that may be something you find out more about as you use the deck longer.
Both the major and minor Arcana have strong imagery, but the strongest aspect of this Tarot deck is the character that the cards put across. This would make them suited to beginners, but also there is such depth many Tarot readers choose this as their preferred deck.
