Kwan Yin is the embodiment of compassion and friendship, and she can hear the crying of every living being. Kwan Yin is also known as the Goddess of Mercy. She is a virgin goddess who will protect women, a patroness of the sea, supports the ones who ask for help and hears every prayer.
Kwan Yin is often depicted holding a twig from the weeping willow, known for its trailing leaf branches that hang down to the ground and through which the raindrops drip like tears.
It is said that Kwan Yin is the representation of the same energy as Mother Mary and Tara.
