• Amber forms when tree resin fossilizes and traps aromatic substances called terpenoids, which release a scent when rubbed. The pine aroma escapes from the resin and is then
• reabsorbed into its fur. The terpenoids are the reason ticks & fleas decide to abandon your pets coat.
• Although ticks do not have noses, the organs located on their front legs can sense the scent of a potential host. The resin that is produced by a tree also protects the tree from pests and fungi.
• The second way that amber protects you pet is through its electrostatic properties. The friction that occurs between the amber and your pets fur builds up an electrostatic charge that helps to ‘zap off’ any aspiring fleas & ticks, neither of which like the electrostatic charge produced.
