A powerful goddess from Irish mythology, sometimes known as Anu, Danaan or Dana. Danu was the mother of the Irish gods who was particularly important to the Tuatha de Danann (a race of gods, goddesses or deities with supernatural powers). Like many Celtic goddesses, she was seen as a triple goddess. As an Earth goddess, she is associated with fertility and abundance of a land or nation. She is a goddess of Wisdom, inspiring and teaching the Tuath de Danann. Danu also has aspects of the Warrior goddess.
